DemirBank took part in the official closing ceremony of the project on the implementation of ESG and sustainable finance in Kyrgyzstan

On November 14, 2025, a ceremony was held in Bishkek to mark the completion of the project “Sustainable Development of the Private Sector in Kyrgyzstan,” implemented by German Sparkassenstiftung. The project was part of the “Green Economy and Sustainable Private Sector Development in the Kyrgyz Republic” program, which is being implemented by GIZ with co-financing from the German Government (BMZ), the European Union, and the Swiss Government.

DemirBank is one of the key partners in the initiative and presented the results of implementing sustainable finance tools—ESG Risk Radar and Sustainable Finance Compass. Thanks to these tools, the bank conducted a comprehensive assessment of ESG risks in its loan portfolio, identified priority areas for development, developed a phased plan for transitioning to sustainable financing, and significantly enhanced the competencies of its employees in ESG management.

At the ceremony, the Bank was represented by Galina Kucheryavaya, Deputy General Manager of DemirBank, having noted:

“Participation in this project has been an important step for DemirBank in the systematic integration of sustainable development principles into the Bank’s business processes. The use of ESG tools has enabled us to gain a deeper understanding of our risk structure, define strategic priorities, and form a sustainable approach to financing. We are confident that the development of ESG practices is an investment in the country’s future and a means of improving the quality of services we offer our customers.”

DemirBank reaffirms its commitment to the principles of sustainable development and will continue to implement innovative solutions aimed at creating positive environmental and social impact in Kyrgyzstan.
