Be careful: beware of fraudsters

Let us tell you more about one of the common types of fraud — phishing.

Fraudsters use fake websites, messages, emails, and links to deceptively gain access to personal and banking data. At first glance, such a message may look quite convincing, so it is important to know how to recognize phishing and protect yourself.

How to recognize phishing?

Pay attention if you are asked to:

- follow a link from an SMS, messenger, or email;

- enter your login, password, card details, or other confidential information on an unfamiliar website;

- share a code from an SMS or another confirmation code;

- install an unknown application or certificate;

- turn on screen sharing or grant remote access to your device;

- urgently carry out a transaction under the pretext of "protecting" your money.

Even if the message looks convincing and contains the DemirBank logo, this does not guarantee that it was actually sent by the Bank.

How to protect yourself?

-Do not follow suspicious links. If you need to log in to internet or mobile banking, use DemirBank's official channels. Do not enter your data on pages opened via links from unknown messages.

-Do not share confidential information with anyone. DemirBank employees must not request your password, PIN code, or confirmation codes to carry out transactions on your behalf.

-Check the website address. Before entering your data, make sure you are on the Bank's official website. DemirBank also recommends typing the website address into your browser yourself and avoiding visiting pages via suspicious links.

-Do not install unknown applications or certificates. Do not open links sent to your phone to obtain digital or mobile certificates.

-Do not grant access to your device's screen. Screen sharing may allow fraudsters to see confidential information and confirmation codes.

What to do if you have already followed a suspicious link?

If you have entered your data, shared a confirmation code, granted screen access, or noticed a suspicious transaction, contact DemirBank as soon as possible.

Call the Contact Center at the short number 2222. If necessary, Bank employees will help take measures to protect your accounts and cards.

Remember!

DemirBank never asks you to disclose your passwords, PIN codes, and confirmation codes to third parties. Your security starts with attentiveness. Do not rush to follow links or share your data — first make sure that the message actually came from an official source.
